By role
10 agencies in the directory say they recruit SEN and learning support teachers for international schools, including Alliance Recruitment Agency, Educators Overseas and Worldteachers Recruitment.
Special educational needs provision is uneven across international schools. Some run fully staffed learning support departments. Others admit pupils with additional needs but rely on one or two staff, and a few are selective. If you work in SEN, the job you are offered may look very different from the job you are used to in England.
These are the points that tend to separate a well-resourced SEN post from a stretched one.
GOV.UK states that all mainstream schools in England must have a SENCO, and that the NPQ for SENCOs is now the mandatory qualification there. The course runs 18 to 22 months. That rule does not apply to overseas schools, so a school abroad may appoint a SEN coordinator with a different background.
Even so, the NPQ framework is a useful guide to what a coordinator is expected to do: identification of need, teaching, leading and managing provision, and working with others.
Ask how many pupils receive support, what the staffing ratio is, whether there is a written SEN policy, and whether the school is accredited as a British School Overseas. Those schools are inspected every three years and the report is public, so you can read what inspectors said about provision.
If the school sits in a market where local law shapes what it can offer, ask whether the SEN team has access to educational psychologists or therapists on site.
The early years leadership NPQ includes learning about children with additional needs and disabilities. Reception and nursery teachers who want to specialise in early identification can use it as a stepping stone.

There is no overseas requirement. The mandatory rule described by GOV.UK covers mainstream schools in England. Some employers still prefer it.
Yes, but the scale of provision differs a lot. Read the published inspection report and ask about caseloads before accepting.
Some agencies tag SEN roles separately. When you register, state your area of need so you are matched correctly.
